When creating an audio project, the three most important aspects are the scripting, recording, and editing process.

Before you begin creating your audio, it is important to have an outline script so you have a clear vision of the points you want to make while recording.

While recording, make sure to record in a controlled quiet environment to ensure clear and consistent sound quality. You should record with a high quality microphone, and keep it close to the subject. You should also make sure to test and play back your audio before you begin recording to make sure the audio works and that the quality is good.

Before beginning the editing process, I like to give all my audio files a specific name so I can differentiate them while editing. Some important tips I have learned from the Digital Knowledge Center’s page on audio projects include staying within -12 and -6 decimals, using keyboard shortcuts, and recording in multiple layers.

Other important tips while creating an audio project include providing a transcript of your recording as well as making sure your voice is clear and of high enough quality to ensure accessibility.
